Mari's Suprise B-day and American Canyon. *funny*

Extra large update for the curious or bored.

My brother set up a pretty cool birthday suprise party and everything turned out well.  Even a few of his close so-cal boys came up to help.  Thanks to also Mom, Grandma and the DJs for helping bringing things up and taking them down.  It was something to remember.  The surprise was nicely done.  They got the celebrant crying and drunk. I played a more important role. I got a chance to turn on the lights.  Yeah.  Out of all the things I did, I got a chance to do the lights.  If you ask me, the light switch is one of the most important elements of a suprise birthday party.  Without me turning on the lights, you don't get a "true" suprise.  All you get is people shouting in the dark and more or less you'll probably end up traumatizing the celebrant instead of surprising.  Yes.  I think it's more important than the food....or even the DJs.  If it weren't for me turning on the light, not only will the suprise not work...you can't see what you're eating (or know what you're eating) and the DJs can't see what they're spinning.  Doing a video in the dark isn't all that entertaining to watch either.  Yay me for the light switch.  Odd came later and we got a chance to hangout and celebrate.  It's not everyday that you get a chance to come home to your parents house and chill with some old and new friends.  This could possibly be the last time we celebrate in the house I lived in for 18 years.  Odd got a chance to rub shoulders with Grams but had to get home to veg with her lonely moms.  Sweet Odd.  After droping off odd, I got a chance to meet some new friends.  I knew some of Mari's friends as acquintances but I got a chance to know them more.  Every one of them were very approachable and friendly.  When your friends are comprised of neighbors, nieces and well...friends, you get some innocent dynamics.  There was even one person who was pretty cool about meeting new friends even with cake stuck to their ass and asked if my GF was still around to hangout.  If you're reading you know who you are.  It was nice to know that everyone that was there assumed the best of everyone.  The party wasn't big or small but it was comfortable for everybody to show their care for a good friend.  That's what was cool and that's all that really mattered.  Happy Bday again Mari.

On another note, at the party, I found out from Grams that we're no longer moving to Hercules.  We're moving to American Canyon (AC).  This was a last minute thing that I had no idea about that I won't go too deep into.  Actually it's Vallejo Canyon.  My parent's new place is on the border of Vallejo and AC.  Basically, the front door leads to Vallejo and the backyard is AC.  I can walk into Rich's bedroom and I'm in Vallejo...then when I'm in  the kitchen I'm in AC.  Am I exagerating?  Yes.  Is this entertaining to read?  Yes.  But seriously, we are very close to the border (i.e. Taco Bell).  So yeah.  New place.  New House.  Unless my mom likes psyching out real estate execs, I think this is her final decision (with a huge emphasis on "I think").

Hercules Real Estate Woman (HREW):  So you want the house?
Mom:  Yes
HREW: So you'll sign?
Mom:  Yeah.

1 week later

Mom:  Just kidding!
HREW:  Why not?
Mom:  It says here that this place was previously a landfill
HREW:  So what?  Look at this place!
Mom:  Fuck that!

Ok.  I'm exaggerating again.  But yeah.  It boiled down to that.  Who knows what's in their water if they decided to move there.  At least my mom is happy.  My dad hasn't even seen the house (model) yet since he works in Utah.  He actually called me up and talked to me for over an hour so I can describe the house to him:

Dad:  Hey son.  Did you check out the house?
Me:  Yeah.  It's really nice.
Dad:   Describe the house.
Me: 4000 sqft, 5br 4 bath, 3 car, nudie pole, fake prop donuts, blah x 5000
Dad:  Prop donuts?!? Wow!

Yeah...I thought it was really nice.  I especially liked their prop videos they demoed in the model homes (i.e. Boy Story, S Files, Albert Flowers, Numb and Number)

Seriously, it's a really nice house.  I would like to get a nice house too, for me and odd, but at least we're blessed that we have our own place to live.
