Everyone wants to be successful in something but people need to understand that you must have and pay every bill in life and gain some humility. Sometimes your approach can be naive and people will make fun of you for it. That's ok. Every professional should always remain, in his heart, an amateur. Sometimes when your initial willingness to learn your true passion fades away, your creative spirit dies with it. Remember that the "star" has to come from humble beginnings, just like the audience.
This is where honesty helps alot too.
Almost any difficulty you come across will move in the face of honesty. When you are honest, you never feel stupid. And when you are honest you are automatically humble. If you tell the truth you don't have to remember anything. When you stretch the truth, you have to watch out for the snapback. This not only gets other successful people to recognize you but to respect you as well.
Know your self-worth
You have to believe you're worth more. This doesn't mean you have to demand for things but by learning how to ask, you can be humble and assertive at the same time. Don't be shy. You can't climb the ladder of success with your hands in your pocket. You have to understand the difference between being assertive and being aggressive - it is how our words and behavior affect the rights and well being of others. A successful person understands that ideas without action are worthless.
Some people say you can't be humble and be successful at the same time.
That's not true. Some folks go through life pleased that the glass is half full. Others spend a lifetime lamenting that it's half-empty. The truth is: There is a glass with a certain volume of liquid in it. From there, it's up to you. Appreciation is great but it can't be an excuse and, more importantly, it can't be a regret in life. You have to expect things of yourselves before you can do them.
And this is where you'll understand commitment.
Determination, motivation, and inspiration are temporary. It takes more than just being interested in something. There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when circumstances permit. When you're committed to doing something, you accept no excuses, only results. You do what you have to do, even if you don't feel like doing it. To accomplish any goal, you have to finish each day and be done with it.
The tragedy of life doesn't lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy lies in having no goals to reach.
I expect to pass through this world once. So if there's any good I can do, or any kindness or ablities that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer from it or neglect it, since I won't be pass this way again.
