1. Assuming you're in a garage with a flat floor, you always should pull up the emergency brake up and leave the steering wheel straight. Then place the reliable stops behind the cars rear wheels.

2. Let the notches do the talking...that's where the jacks are going to be placed.

4. Make sure you have the hydrolic jack backed up by a jack stand and never use the hydrolic as the primary stand. The jack stand as shown below...should be the jack that should withstand the pressure of the cars weight...then the hydrolic is supposed to assist that jack stand...but not lift the car from the jack stand. Never forget this. It's better than being a dead mechanic.
