Mod: Front Strut Tower Bar

Modification Type:
Performance/Appearance

Difficulty of Install/Modification:
Very Easy

Preparation And Install Time:
30 min

Adjustable Whiteline Strut Tower Bar.  Shown below are the Strut Tower Bar for the rear and the front....and the Stabilizers for the front.  But, since we're talking about only the Front Strut Tower, we'll begin with that.  Note the shining light.  This means it's time to begin.

The straight bar is for the liftbacks.  So for those with liftbacks...here's a pic for you guys as a treat.  Unfortunately, for this article, we will be doing it for coupes (which do not need rear strut tower bars)

Below is the assembly pieces of the front strut bar.  Nice huh.  The fact that it is adjustable is nice.  You can adjust the amount of stiffness and reduced chassis flex is pretty nice although I would know why anyone would want to add chassis flex.

Here it is...in its assembled state...

I couldn't stand the yellow color...so I sanded it and painted it with high temp paint such as Duplicolor.  Very good paint BTW.

When everything was well dried, I went right to the car, popped the hood and began putting in the strut tower bar.  So here's the results.

There is no way you can "bang" out some 'strut' tower bars

Unless you are a engineer in forging/casting steel materials, you will not be able to create a tower bar of the same fitment or even one with equal stiffness.  Basically, you're crazy. . Just buy it. It's only 60-70 bucks. Goto http://www.whiteline.com.au
