Systems worth buying and playing over again...

and I'm not talking about just emulation here.

I'm talking about: Which system would you actually still play at this day in age and still have fun playing them?

Definitely not Atari, Tournament 2000, or any of the other archaic crap. Why? They're merely just boxes to reminisce to. They're equivalent to playing with action figures. You can only have so much fun playing with dashes, dots, and stick figures on the screen. I would be able to satisfy my need for nostalgia with just a picture or a poster off all of the old systems and screenshots of the games I used to play when I was little wee lad.. Don't get me wrong. I acknowledge the fact that without these "classic" systems, we wouldn't have these cutting edge systems we have today BUT it goes back to the question: Would you spend the time to hook up your RF Switch to play some Combat? Air Sea Battle? or Bump n Jump?

IMHO, I would rather play the original NES than any of the older systems. I'm rather picky as well. If the system does not have many good games on it, I typically omit it from my collection. I also like collecting something that looks timeless/classic. Some systems are also just better off being emulated if they're not worth the room in your closet.

Without further adeiu, here are the systems to collect:

  1. Atari Flashback 2
  2. NES (US Version)
  3. Super Famicom (Euro Version)
  4. Nintendo 64
  5. Dreamcast
  6. Playstation
  7. PSOne
  8. PS2
  9. GameCube
  10. PSTwo
  11. XBox 360
  12. Revolution
  13. PS3
